Intro to the company
- A company was started back in 2020 during the covid pandemic, when the founder Surbhi Jain herself started facing sleeplessness and couldn’t find solution to the same inspite of consulting doctors and trying out the existing products in the market that commit to solve these sleep related issues.
Initial Problem statement
- Irregular sleep ruins the whole day and may end up with frustration and fall of productivity. During covid peaks nearly 35.7% of world’s population faced sleep related issues. (as stated by google)
- The company started with the aim to provide sound sleep to such people and make their day better and fresh.
Pre- existing solutions in the market
- Pillows, mattresses etc that promises consumers to get a better sleep when they use it. But if a person facing sleep related problems due to some vitamin deficiency or some sort of stress in life, how beneficial can a pillow or mattress be to get him sleep.
- Pills and capsules, along with a lot of doctor’s gyan of not taking enough stress. But the pills often loose its effectiveness after a period of time. What after that??
Initial difficulties/ steps
- Setting up something new and effective often requires efforts and dedication. Initially they were not able to know whether the content they are putting up really liked and appreciated by the users or not.
- She couldn’t proceed towards building a full fledged app and start putting up content over there without a bunch of consumers. So she headed towards launching a YouTube channel and placing content over there.
- Initially customers dropped off after 2-3 days once they had consumed the posted content. So it was challenging to keep hold of consumers and adding fresh content on the app or channels they work with.
Co-founder
- When the company took off, she couldn’t find anyone as much excited as her, so she started the company herself and still heading it alone.
Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
- Setting up a YouTube channel and posting content over there before proceeding doing the same on Neend app, was the MVP of the company.
- YouTube being a trusted utility, does all of its work very well, whether it be SEOs, recommendations, user feedback using comments and many others.
Evolution of Problem Statement
- started with the aim of helping people sleep well with the help of their content.
- Most of the people today are living a fill with some or the other stress or tension, so the company is next targeting such victims and help them to de-stress their life before reaching chronic stage. This will be second PS of the company.
Solutions offered by this company
- Content like audio stories of different genres like fantasy, adventure, fiction etc., soothing music brings the mind of user from concentration to relaxation stage, and probably within few minutes sleep will took over him/her. To reduce screen time of the user, the company has not put up their content in the video format.
- They are on their way to launch products like melatonin gummies, a sleeping tea, sleep spray etc.
- They will even be launching a model where they’ll be connecting customers to medical experts and will be getting a permanent remedy to sleep related problems faced by them.
Remarks
- The product that the company is currently serving has an efficacy of 92%, that means out of 100 times the user has heard the content, has fallen asleep 92 times.
- Users fall asleep within a time frame of 7 - 15 minutes, however the average sleeping time for customers is 10.5 minutes.
